Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 12, 2026 · Governing law: England and Wales

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using chichester-jobs.uk ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These Terms apply to all users of the Site, including employers who post job listings, and job seekers who browse or apply for positions.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or post a job listing. By using the Site, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Job Postings — Employer Responsibilities

Employers are solely responsible for the content of their job postings. By submitting a listing, you confirm that:

  • The role described is a genuine vacancy.
  • The listing complies with the Equality Act 2010. Job postings must not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
  • The listing does not contain false, misleading, or deceptive information.
  • The role is based in or primarily serving the Chichester and West Sussex area.
  • You have authority to recruit for the position on behalf of the named employer.
  • Any salary information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

We reserve the right to remove any listing at our sole discretion that we determine violates these Terms or our content standards, without notice or refund.

4. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on the Site:

  • Job listings that require upfront payment from candidates
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM) or pyramid scheme opportunities
  • Volunteer roles described misleadingly as paid employment
  • Any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful
  • Postings that violate UK employment law or the Equality Act 2010
  • Listings for positions unrelated to Chichester or West Sussex
  • Spam or duplicate listings

5. Content Moderation and Listing Review

We operate an automated content moderation system that screens all job listings before they can proceed to payment or publication. This is in place to protect job seekers, maintain the quality of the Site, and ensure compliance with applicable law.

Automated Keyword Screening

When you submit a job listing, our system automatically checks the title, description, and company name against a blocklist of terms associated with adult content, fraud, illegal working arrangements, multi-level marketing, and spam. This check is performed before the payment step.

  • If your listing passes the automated screen, you will be taken directly to the payment step to publish your listing.
  • If your listing does not pass, it is placed into a pending review state. You will not be able to proceed to payment until an administrator has reviewed and approved the listing. Payment is blocked while a listing is under review.

Automated screening is a first-pass filter. False positives can occur. If you believe your listing was incorrectly flagged, please email hello@chichester-jobs.uk and an administrator will review it promptly.

Admin Review Queue

Listings placed under review are examined by our administrators. An administrator may:

  • Approve the listing — it will be returned to you to proceed with payment (or set live if payment was already taken).
  • Reject the listing — you will receive an email explaining the reason. Rejected listings cannot be published.

We aim to complete all manual reviews within one business day.

Post-Payment Safety Check

As an additional safeguard, a content screen is also run after payment is processed. In the unlikely event that a listing is flagged at this stage, it will be held for admin review rather than going live immediately. If your listing is subsequently rejected, a full refund will be issued.

Public "Report this Listing" Feature

Logged-in users and visitors may report any live job listing using the "Report this listing" button on the listing page. Reports are reviewed by our administrators and may result in a listing being suspended or removed. We store the IP address of the reporter to prevent duplicate or abusive reports.

Reports are used solely for moderation purposes and are never shared with the employer whose listing has been reported.

6. Pricing and Payment

Job listings are offered at the following tiers:

  • Standard — £39 +VAT · 30 days live · Applications dashboard
  • Featured — £65 +VAT · 30 days live · Pinned to top of listings

All prices are shown in British Pounds (GBP) and are exclusive of VAT where applicable. Paid listings are processed securely by Stripe.

Refund Policy

This service is offered exclusively on a business-to-business basis. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are acting in the course of a business, trade, or profession, and not as a private consumer. The 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to purchases made in a business capacity.

Once your listing has been live for more than 24 hours, no refund will be provided under any circumstances. This includes cases where:

  • The position is filled before the listing expires
  • You choose to close the listing early
  • The listing is removed for a Terms violation

If you wish to cancel within the first 24 hours of your listing going live, email hello@chichester-jobs.uk with your order details. Refunds within this window are issued at our discretion, minus a reasonable deduction for any service already provided.

If a technical fault on our part prevents your listing from going live, we will offer a full refund or a replacement listing at our discretion. Requests must be made within 7 days of purchase to hello@chichester-jobs.uk.

7. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access at hello@chichester-jobs.uk

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. GDPR — Employer Data Processing

Employers who post job listings may receive applications containing personal data (names, contact details, CVs). By posting a job, you agree that:

  • You become an independent data controller for any candidate data you receive.
  • You will process that data lawfully, in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • You will not use candidate data for any purpose other than the specific recruitment for which it was submitted.
  • You will retain candidate data only as long as necessary and handle deletion requests appropriately.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including the design, logo, code, and written content — is the intellectual property of MonakTech unless otherwise stated.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (job descriptions, company information). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Site for the duration of your listing.

10. Limitation of Liability

chichester-jobs.uk acts as a platform to connect employers and job seekers. We are not a recruitment agency and are not party to any employment relationship.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or lawfulness of job listings submitted by employers
  • Any hiring decisions, employment disputes, or outcomes arising from use of the Site
  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits, whether direct or indirect
  • Service interruptions, downtime, or technical failures beyond our reasonable control

11. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint about our services, please email hello@chichester-jobs.uk in the first instance. We aim to resolve all disputes within 5 business days.

If we cannot resolve the matter directly, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
